The 2023 Ford Escape Active is designed for families seeking versatile daily practicality in a two-row SUV, offering ample rear-seat space for car seats and easy school-run routines. Oxford White exterior and Ebony interior create a family-friendly environment, while the flexible split folding rear seat makes accommodating strollers, sports gear, or groceries straightforward for busy parents.
Parents who want a blend of comfort, technology, and utility for family life will appreciate how this SUV fits everyday needs. The rear seats are engineered for straightforward car seat installation and the power liftgate simplifies loading bulky items, whether for weekend getaways or shopping trips. In regions with varying weather like St. Louis, features such as heated elements from the Cold Weather Package help keep the family comfortable on chilly mornings without fuss.
Equipped with a 1.5L EcoBoost engine and 8-speed automatic transmission, the Escape Active delivers smooth and responsive acceleration for merging onto highways or navigating city streets with the whole crew. Front-wheel drive provides stable, predictable traction for school drop-offs and road trips, while the efficient EPA ratings of 27 city and 34 highway MPG help parents keep fuel stops to a minimum during a busy week of errands.
Family safety is prioritized with advanced systems including dual front, side, and knee airbags, brake assist, and electronic stability control to help maintain composure in emergencies. The exterior parking camera aids in tight backing situations, while the SYNC 4 911 Assist emergency communication system offers extra peace of mind for protecting what matters most. LATCH anchors and rear seat reminders support safe travel for children and teens alike.
Convenience features in this SUV include automatic temperature control with front dual-zone A/C, a power driver seat with memory, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls for distraction-free operation. The Tech Pack #2 adds modern connectivity, while the Cold Weather Package ensures that winter mornings start comfortably. A split folding rear seat allows for quick reconfiguration to meet the demands of growing families and shifting cargo loads.
Compared to other compact SUVs like the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, the Escape Active stands out with its power liftgate and dual-zone climate control, making it easier to keep the family comfortable and manage cargo. Its SYNC 4 system and rear camera provide user-friendly tech advantages, while the efficient EcoBoost engine balances performance and fuel economy for real-world family use.
How many car seats can fit comfortably? The rear seat can accommodate two car seats side by side, with LATCH anchors for secure installation. Does the SUV offer peace of mind for teen drivers or new drivers in the household? Yes, with features like electronic stability control, rearview camera, and SYNC 4 911 Assist. What warranty coverage is available? The original Ford powertrain warranty was 5 years or 60,000 miles, transferable to subsequent owners, offering reassurance for families planning long-term use. Is there enough space for both a stroller and groceries? The flexible cargo area and split rear seat make it easy to carry both without hassle.
